I'm all ready for tomorrow's Docrafts demonstration at The Range at Antelope Park in Bursledon, Southampton. If you are in the area do pop in and say "Hi" as I would love to see you - I will be showing off all the gorgeous Docrafts products that you will have seen in some of my earlier posts on here over the past few weeks - there really is something for everyone be your style vintage and feminine (Vintage Notes), if you want to try industriana styled Steampunk (Chronology) or you need a must-have everyday collection that can been seen anytime anywhere (Capsule Spots and Stripes in Pastel).
I have to say I'm thrilled with the response from you all for my Inspiration post last night. You clearly are loving all those gorgeous designs from the talented Graphic 45 design team over in the US.
Those of you who follow my facebook page, Becky James, will have known that for some time I posted three pictures every Friday (well occasionally on another day but atleast once a week) that I have hunted down from across the crafting communities on the net to provide you with loads of inspiration for your crafting during the week ahead.
One of the things I love to do when I'm crafting is research - its lovely to see what other people out there are making, it keeps you on top of the latest trends and sometimes just sets off a spark of an idea for one of my own creations! I've often got a huge a stock of things I want to share with you by the time it comes to Inspiration day and choosing just three of the things that have caught my eye that week can be so difficult!
Since I have started writing this blog though I thought it was the ideal place to move Inspiration Friday to... and from last week I have actually decided to move it to Thursday, giving you an extra day to hone your ideas ready for a little crafty time on Saturday and Sunday.
One of the things I have noticed in my recent research "trips" around the net is that texture and fabric are evident everywhere in creating.... felt, buttons, lace, twine, fabric, ribbon, you name it... and of course sewing has become so popular in recent times... Everyone but everyone is getting their sewing machines out!
With this in mind a couple of weeks ago I designed the following card at my demonstration at Emerald Crafts in Lyndhurst.
From frayed paper and fat quarter edges to mini buttons, ribbon to a baker's twine covered cotton reel die cut with the new Xcut Haberdashery Die set (the mannequin also comes with this die set that includes all manner of vintage haberdashery paraphenalia including thimbles, hangers and scissors), sewing hole borders to chipboard buttons that have been embossed with a die cutting system... everything was designed with this in mind. I hope you like it and find plenty to take away to use in your own designs.
Of course, if you love to sew then the new Capsule Fat Quarters and Felt sheets are perfect for all manner of soft craft projects and on page 61 of the latest Creativity! magazine you can see our designer has created some cuter than cute Kitchen accessories - from a lovely vintage frou frou apron to oven mitts, a teapot cover and more... Its a stunning article and had me reaching for my sewing box in minutes!!!!
Also if you love children's clothing then you need to visit "Once upon a Time" Children's clothing for beautiul handmade designs you won't pick up anywhere else... I'm just in love with their cute designs!!!
Well that's all from me today everyone.
Take care - have a lovely weekend and do pop along to my demonstration tomorrow and say "Hello"! I'd love to see you there!
