A little bit of bling!

Well what a fabulous day it has been today....

Some members of the Docrafts dream team have been crafting away at head office creating fabulous projects for you all that will be coming your way on the web and in the May magazine...  Its VERY exciting and I can tell you I have a FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS new range to work with this time round... it is so on trend and my mind is just bursting with ideas... so many that I think basically I should just fill the magazine with projects made from my bundle of goodies....  And I SOOOOOO want to tell you what it is right now...  but the zip has firmly been zipped and my mouth is tightly shut hee hee!!!  You know me I love to share, so just as soon as I can you know you will all be the first to know!

But seriously, all you other clever girlies designing for the May magazine... I would never steal your very talented creative thunder from the magazine and as always I'm eriously excited to see the projects you make...  But I do know that Katy and Emma will happily home any extra projects I make so you can all share in them on the website!!!

Now I must apologise for not being around yesterday... I'm afraid things caught up on the occupants of James' towers yesterday and I wasn't able to get online.

Have you spotted the "New Look" to the blog????  It won't be staying like this I don't think but I have been learning some new blogging skills...  I'm not there yet but I will arrive at my destination sometime hopefully soon...  the thing that is stumping me right at the moment is how to get the banner central...  Are you like me and have to do something to learn???  That is why I have been playing around myself... though the time may come when I have to call in an expert to give me a little bit of a guiding light...  For me though, this is exciting stuff... I love to develop my skill base and though to many what I am doing is simple we all have to start somewhere don't we?

Talking about simple stuff, tonight's card is such a simple, plain design - absolutely perfect for a newbie crafter aswell as someone more experienced - and you know it can be adapted in so many ways...

For my design the main product is Papermania Shimmer dome stickers which come in four rich colours - in the picture below these are the silver, pale pink, cerise pink and red shades.  They are absolutely packed to the rafters with light catching coloured glitter....  Now if you want these four colours I always always recommend buying the true colour pack and not to colour the silver ones... this is because no matter what ink or medium you use to colour the silver domes you won't achieve that deep intensity and tone... BUT if you do want to add in another colour that is not available, as I have here with the aqua shimmers, then use an alcohol based ink to add something different.

So what do you think of this?  I promise you it is so simple to achieve:

I created this card for the Creativity! magazine last year but the more I look at it the more I see the adaptability of the design for all manner of occasions... why not try the Papermania Heart shaped Shimmer Stickers that were released in January for an anniversary, wedding or engagement card... Or punch multicoloured flowers with my favourite Papermania flower punch centred with contrasting adhesive gems... or for a new baby maybe punch little hands and feet...

This really is a design where the possibilities are endless!!!  And don't we all just love projects we can revamp time and time again for the perfect greeting - maybe when time is short or, as just does happen sometimes, our creative mojo has taken a little holiday without taking us with it...

I hope you have enjoyed this evenings project...

Before I hop off for a lil' bite to eat I just have to let you know about something our lovely Emma Collins is giving away...
