The perils of a happy if hapless crafter...

.... Also know as "The cautionary tale of painting in the laundry"...

Hellllllooooooo everyone!!!!

Before I go any further I should really explain that in my family there are many tales that have progressed into family legend of my somewhat brainless antics....  This is after all the woman who put toothpaste in the freezer and her mug of tea in the fridge...  I'm that kind of person...  Sometimes (though thankfully it isn't all the time my brain doesn't quite engage otherwise I could truly be dangerous).

I am usually afflicted thus when my mind is overly occupied...  I know as a woman I can multi task but sometimes... just sometimes... there are just too many thoughts going on up there...

I actually started this post on Monday but boy have I been in crafting mode and I've been crafting until well into the evening the past couple of days.... Let's face it when the MOJO hits you you just have to ride on the wave and craft wherever the inspiration takes you!!!

So I started Monday morning with a nice long walk in the fresh, if a little nippy, sunshine... the aim being to clear away some cobwebs and to focus on my day's crafting ahead...  I needed to figure out exactly how to put some projects together and it is at those times that I often find a walk will help defuzz the fuzz and focus my thoughts... thing is on Monday I'm really not certain that it didn't blow away some of the grey cells as well...

Now I have a tendency when I need to work with acrylic paints and specialist mediums to do this in the laundry... its one of the messy rooms in the house that needs completely gutting - a new floor, surfaces etc - so I don't worry about paint getting everywhere.... it also keeps them out of harms way and prevents stray blobs finding their way onto things they shouldn't... Or so I thought....

Of course that would be the common-sensical, sensible me thinking... But you see on Monday I was just in "Get on and do" mode, so not just was I crafting but working my way through a list of household chores....  and I wasn't thinking I was just doing...

Now I'm going to show you a picture and, should just point out this was my hands at a point in time when I could take a picture of them...

They got ALOT more messy than this... Hmmmmmm...

Now add into the mix a basket of washing containing some of my favourite clothes and a numpty crafter who didn't think to wash her hands first....

Need I really say more?????

Later in the day the hands that are blue above with paint were absolutely black and brown with ink... and I ONLY just managed to stop myself doing the same thing twice...

The only thing that I AM  able to report is that none of Mr J's garments were affected... Now that could have been trouble!

So what morale can we take from today's story...  Never mix paint and washing...  And taking this step further maybe even never do housework and always craft... It could end up with alot less heartache and tears!!!!!

So with that I'll close by saying I'm back in the blogging swing of things and will be back tomorrow night with my Inspiration post and then we will be back to more demo samples...  I have some really lovely projects from crafters at home and abroad to show you... infact I've just found one that I have to HAVE TO share and I KNOW you are just going to love it!!!!

So until tomorrow "Happy crafting", and remember to engage your brain when paint and ink is involved....

With lots of Love
Becky

  4. Hahahahaha, this did make me laugh Becky, I think that we as crafter's, often have a tendancy to let our minds wonder, I know mine does. I shall now be more careful when using inks and paints, and I shall be thinking of you !!!!! Hugs P xxx
